workday events!

As a senior graphic designer, I lead the design and management of many Workday events. My team owns creative and helps with the strategy, planning, and execution of each event. I work closely with other teams and vendors to bring the vision to reality.

workday rising 2023

In 2023, we hosted our largest customer conference of the year called Workday Rising and surpassed all our previous years in terms of attendance, scale, and production, with a total of 15k+ in-person and digital attendees Our small but mighty team of designers led the design and execution of this event.

As the giveaways design lead, I created the conference “swag pack” and oversaw all brainstorming, designs, production samples, and approvals. We worked with our wonderful vendors to create a gift that would be useful and long-lasting for our attendees, with careful considerations for sustainability, functionality, and simplicity. The final pack consisted of a slim tech caddy with multiple slots, elastic bands, and pockets, recycled notebook, pen, aluminum water bottle, commemorative pin and a variety of fun stickers to take home. (My black goldendoodle makes a cameo appearance as one of the stickers!)

devcon 2022

In 2022, we hosted the very first in-person Devcon at Workday. This developer conference aims to help drive the Workday Platform directly to the developer community. Attendees have the opportunity to attend keynotes and breakouts, participate in hands-on demos, and network with other community members.

My co-lead, Aly Cunningham, and I created the visual identity and executed on the entire event under a tight 3 month deadline. We worked with the developer teams and our vendor to create the digital experience, registration path, onsite production, and everything in-between.

executive symposium 2022

Each year, our largest external conference, Workday Rising, hosts an executive networking event for our c-suite attendees. This two-day event is an opportunity for people to network with fellow executives, dive deeper into business trends, and hear from distinguished guest speakers.

I have worked on this series of executive events since 2017, and in 2022, I had the opportunity to lead the creative side. With the support of my teammate, Mara Ezekiel, we created a custom invite, website, stage design, and a plethora of other digital and onsite materials.

elevate 2019

Workday Elevate was an international traveling roadshow that allowed prospect and current Workday customers to learn about Workday’s technology vision and innovation, and explore the Workday finance, HR, and planning applications.

As the lead designer on the Elevate creative team, I refreshed the visual identity of the previous year’s theme to align with our growing brand. I also created guidance look books, toolkits, asset libraries, and folder sharing structures to ensure that our US teams, international teams, and vendors would all be aligned for design and production. I collaborated with our vendor to build out two full trade-shows in Chicago and New York, with attendance surpassing 400 for each.

rising 2017, 2018, 2019

As noted above, Workday Rising is our biggest annual conference, where customers can experience the Workday community come to life. Our events team works year-round to create the visual identity, as well as lead all event onsite, signage and collateral design.

Featured here is a compilation of how the conference has grown over the years. Each year is always a unique challenge, but our team has consistently created a successful and fun experience year after year.

rising 2022: workday store

Workday Rising 2022 was a particularly challenging event, as we were coming back from a two-year Covid hiatus of in-person events. There was a huge learning curve in onboarding new stakeholders and battling uncertainty in budgets and timelines.

Featured below is the Workday Store, a central hub in the expo hall where attendees could purchase swag. Alongside the Workday Studio team, I organized a Workday Rising employee photoshoot to feature some of our backend but important contributors to the conference. I also designed new pieces for the store, including an insulated tote, socks, and more.

A bonus feature is my dog featured alongside some of our Workdog swag.

rising 2018: dub air

The Workday Dub Air experience was an onsite activation that showcased the new mobile capabilities of the Workday platform. I designed a Dub flight badge and an informational safety card to accompany the airplane cabin onboarding experience.
